Amna Bint Wahab School Towards International
Accreditation
Amna Bint Wahab Girls Independent Secondary School elected its Board of
Trustees including five parents, two of whom are PhD holders. Supreme
Education Council officials, the School Principal and parents attended
the event. Twelve parents and community members contested, with five
members winning the Board of Trustees’ seats. All the nominees were
granted equal opportunity to introduce themselves to the parents
especially with regards to their qualifications, experience and vision
about school improvements.
The elected members were sworn in
according to the rules set by the Education Institute and they will work
with the school management to improve and develop education.
The elected members are:

Marwan AlMusleh (PhD in Law – Counselor-at-Law at Ras
Laffan)
- Dr. Ahmed
AbdulWahab (PhD in Law – Counselor at the Supreme
International Egyptian Council)
- Mr. Ahmed
Ali AlAmir
(Qatar University – Master in Education, Secondary School
Education Development)
- Mrs.
Saleha Mohee Eldeen (Teacher – AlRefaa Primary
Independent School for girls)
- Mr. Ahmed
Elsayed Mansour (Journalist at Al Jazeera Channel)
- Mrs.
Hanan Elwy won special membership as an Education
Institute representative.
School Operator, Dr. Zeyad Al-Any
briefed participants on the school plan and the role of the Board of
Trustees and its responsibilities. He assured the parents that the
school programs will enable the students to participate in the critical
thinking and solve scientific problems based on information and
collected data.

Wahab School Towards International Accreditation
Amna Bint Wahab Independent School for Girls' Operator Dr. Ziyad El Aani
has attended the International Accreditation Workshop for schools which
was organized by the Board of International Schools CIS in Warsaw the
capital of Poland during the past month of March where Amna Bint Wahab
School has started procedures to obtain international accreditation from
the mentioned Board. Dr Ziyad has also attended the activities of The
International Schools Conference in Eastern Europe during the period of
16th – 18th of March.
The school's Principal, Mrs. Hessa Al Marwani has attended the First
Educational Forum of International School from 21st – 23rd March 2006
which was organized by the Arabic Educational Bureau for the Gulf
Cooperative Council. The Forum also included workshops and lectures one
of them was about procedures for international accreditation.
It is known that Amna Bint Wahab is one of the independent secondary
schools that implement Curriculum Standards for teaching the major
subjects ; English, Science and Math , with Science and Math being
taught in English.
